What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Accountant position at MTG Services?
MTG Services has been retained by one of its mortgage clients to locate an experienced Accountant with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in mortgage related accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct complex analyses including preparing / reviewing monthly, quarterly analytics and financial statements
- Conduct financial statement reviews across multiple legal entities
- Coordinate accounting related items across multiple departments
- Evaluate financials according to GAAP requirements and correct issues
- Work with FP&A team to provide critical data for budgeting and projections
- Ensure financial records are maintained according to best practices and compliant with interna requirements
- Provide technical accounting advice to junior staff members
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree
- Four (4) years of experience
- CPA preferred, but not required - if no CPA, 7 years of experience is required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Experience in mortgage
