Supply Chain Manager
Position Summary
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant materials flow to include maintaining accuracy of inventories, procurement, planning, scheduling, and warehousing to ensure that material is purchased, manufactured, moved, received, and shipped on time. A key aspect of this role is to Lead and plan internal planning process, production scheduling, capacity planning, and Inventory management for the business.
Responsibilities
- Provide company leadership and direction for MTI’s Supply Chain management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, production, finance, and warehouse to ensure production planning and inventory accuracy.
- Lead strategic planning for growth, future capacity, and aligning materials management strategies for manufacturing.
- Drive decision-making processes to balance supply and demand, optimize inventory levels and minimize out of stock items.
- Drive inventory audits and counts to ensure inventory accuracy to feed manufacturing and production efficiencies.
- Drive strategy and implementation of ERP System accuracy with current system.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of the future ERP system.
- Oversee the optimization of plant warehousing operations and material handlers, ensuring effective storage, retrieval, and distribution of materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain with overall production goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in materials handling, planning, and procurement. Collaborate with operations and other stakeholders improve processes and efficiency, reduce costs, and improve on-time delivery.
- Manage and develop supply chain employees.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Warehouse.
- Leads the Supply Chain function in identifying problems with systems or processes and identifying solutions and process improvements.
- Gather, analyze, and validate data.
- Participates as a member of the operations management team in making cross-functional operational decisions.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining, and aligning with safety initiatives and goals.
Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise in Supply Chain and Materials Management best practices.
- Exceptional analytical problem-solving.
- Demonstrates collaboration in a cross-functional environment.
- Demonstrates leadership in organizing tasks and delivering on KPIs.
- Communicates effectively, both written and verbal, with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues.
- Influences others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions.
- Uses Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiently.
Education and Experience
- BS degree in Supply Chain Management, business, or other related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- MS or other advanced degree preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
- 8 – 10 years’ experience in Materials Management or related field
- Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
- Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 ERP system experience preferred.
- Demonstrates a track record of improving efficiencies, reducing cost and leading teams.
