Essential:
1. Prepare and manage the coordination of supporting documentation for consolidated corporate federal (Form 1120) and various state income tax returns (stand-alone and consolidated returns), intercompany filings (Form 5472), State sales and use tax returns, exemption certificate preparation, other state and local business tax returns/credits/claims, information reporting and registrations, and all related supporting workpapers with Rolls-Royce North America tax team; Research, plan and document all federal, state and local return issues and positions.
2. Lead audit defense efforts on all tax audits, including with the IRS and state tax agencies, prepare responses to all information requests and manage staff activities on all tax audits.
3. Coordinate third-party consulting engagements for specific tax projects (R&D credit, property tax return filings, fixed asset depreciation, transfer pricing) and intercompany consulting with Rolls-Royce North America for tax preparation and support.
4. Prepare and coordinate the preparation, review, audit, and reporting of information needed for hard close and year-end tax provision calculations for all US reporting entities.
5. Manage and coordinate the preparation and approval of quarterly estimated, sales and use, audit and other required tax payments to State and Federal revenue agencies.
6. Maintain tax accounting records, effective tax rates, monthly and quarterly tax provision calculations and journal entries for all US reporting entities, where applicable.
7. Prepare and approve monthly reconciliation of all tax accounts including investigation and resolution of all differences between tax records and general ledger accounts.
8. Review and reconcile book vs tax fixed asset depreciation files maintained by a third party consultant.
9. Manage the preparation and submission of various tax related reports for information return filings (Form 1042s, 1099s, & FBAR), monthly cash tax forecasts, forecasted effective tax rates, and for other corporate requests as needed.
10. Support and assist in federal and state income tax planning initiatives, developing analysis on changing US tax legislation for presentation to management.
11. Review sales chain transactions for proper VAT handling and review monthly VAT tax returns prepared by German third party consultant on behalf of US entity.
12. Liaise with sales to review sales contracts for transfer pricing and other tax implications including VAT/GST, sales tax and other international tax issues, and review for revenue recognition implications for financial reporting (IAS 15). Summarize revenue recognition implications and review with management regularly.
13. Prepare, manage, coordinate, and report on all tax-related internal control risks and controls for Rolls-Royce Solutions America Inc. including documentation of all tax-related processes and local work instructions within the Internal Control System (ICS).
14. Maintain and update Rolls-Royce corporate government incentive platform for status of all specific tax incentives granted to Rolls-Royce Solutions America Inc.

Qualifications:
Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 5 years' experience in corporate tax specifically with consolidated returns and multi-state taxes, and Tax Accounting (ASC 740 or IAS 12);
2. International tax experience with knowledge of transfer pricing rules, FBAR and FATCA regulation and compliance.
3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master's Degree in Taxation, Accounting or Finance
4. Excellent knowledge preparing federal, state and international tax returns for large, multinational corporations.
5.. Excellent knowledge with IRS and state level tax audits.
6. Excellent knowledge of tax accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial and tax data

Daily work is performed in an office environment. This position has a traditional Monday through Friday work schedule. This position is asked to work casual overtime, especially during month and year-end accounting.
While performing duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand, kneel, crouch, reach, and / or grasp. Next, an employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to manipulate small items such as a keyboard or mouse. Finally, an employee is also frequently required to walk within the work environment.
Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, and the employee must have the ability to adjust focus.
