What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at Mud Bay Inc?
Responsibilities:
- Promote the wellbeing, health, safety, and security of Muddies.
- Collaborate with Mud Bay Leaders to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security practices, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate the safety and security programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
- Track, compile and report safety and security issues, concerns, and reports.
- Analyze safety and security data to identify hazards, trends, training opportunities and actions to mitigate future safety issues.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of safety and security programs.
- Review current safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Leads implementation of improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
- Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Shares environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
- Prepares and implements departmental budget.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, rules and reporting.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety and security protocols.
- Knowledge of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
- Knowledge of applicable Washington State Labor and Industries and Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
- Ability to build productive relationships across diverse teams to accomplish goals.

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma.
- At least two years of safety management experience.
- Experience administering employment policies and procedure required.
- Advanced training or certification in safety and security preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk while working on a computer, driving, and standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Ability to travel to Mud Bay stores and facilities.
