Mueller Water Products, the leading manufacturer and marketer of products and services used in the transmission, distribution, and measurement of water in North America, has an opening for a Production Supervisor based in our Emporia, KS Facility.
Job Description:
The Production Supervisor position will serve as a backup to the Warehouse Supervisor in guiding the work of Warehouse employees as efficiently and safely as needed. This position will also support warehouse efforts in quality control of outgoing and returned products by working directly in the quality and actuation departments.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and evaluating employee productivity and behavior and providing constructive feedback and coaching
- Maintaining timekeeping and personnel records including but not limited to, vacation and time off requests and progressive discipline.
- Initiate, suggest, and implement plans to motivate, empower, and develop workers to achieve work goals in a team environment while complying with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
- Supervise warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.
- Complete actuation and basic electrical on products including wiring and work with solenoids, limit switches, and positioners.
- Inspect, test, and evaluate products that are returned by customers and new products entering the warehouse using measuring devices like gauges, meters, and calipers.
- Preparing necessary reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Eliminating products that are not up to standards and finding the reasons for product problems.
- Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Use testing devices such as calipers, hydro test press, torque tester, and voltmeter to identify and report electrical problems
- Great communicator across departments, especially between the production floor and the materials department/front office.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
Required Experience:
- At least two years’ experience leading a group of employees in manufacturing/warehousing setting
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic computer skills (Office Suite, Email, etc)
- Standard technical electrician skills (and safety knowledge)
- Experience with valves and fabrication is a plus
