Immediate need for a Medical Assistant at National Harbor, Maryland
(Must be a Certified Medical Assistant, Registered MA, CNA, or GNA)
MUST be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug test
MUST have EMR experience and some clinical experience
HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:00AM- 4:30 PM
MUST:
Qualified Medical Assistant (MA/RMA/CCMA/CNA/GNA) with experience in a medical office
Must possess sound judgment, good communication and business acumen skills

Must have a great attitude and be reliable
Be CPR Certified (through the American Heart Association)
Must have at least 2 years of solid work experience as a medical assistant
Strong internal medicine experience preferred/or family medicine
Must have strong EMR experience - Next Gen a plus
DUTIES:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for the following:
Clinic patient flow, informing physicians of patients arrival and room assignment
Accompany and/or assists patients to the exam room in a professional manner
Obtain patient vital signs, to include height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration
Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
Set up the exam room and preparing the patient
Take patient medical history if applicable per department
Perform a variety of testing, diagnostic, and screening procedures
Assist in explaining test procedures to patients
Current in basic CPR/AED
Ability to calculate dosages (may be required to demonstrate via passing yearly written medication exam)
Administer medications (oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, inhalation, rectal, topical) using proper technique this duty can only be performed after the MA has demonstrated competency to clinic RN yearly, if applicable per department
Communicate laboratory and test results to physicians and/or nurses
May assist with other support activities, to include packaging and sterilizing equipment and supplies
Maintain patient areas clean and safe
Maintain and improves knowledge and expertise through continuous training
Performs other duties as assigned
Take inventory of supplies, equipment and medication
Ensure clinical areas are well stocked
Ensure expiration dates have not lapsed
Communicate problems and concerns to supervisors
Provide excellent customer service by demonstrating positive behaviors towards patients, families/visitors, providers, other department staff, and co-workers.
Performs QA of equipment and instruments
