Position Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to designated patient populations with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities, which requires the use of advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations. This position requires specialized training and experience to perform independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care, including the establishment of therapy and treatment objectives, and the review of care based on the age and needs of the patient. This position operates independently, under limited supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
One year acute care experience in the field of respiratory therapy and critical care as CRT required.
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Training program. Certified (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the State of Washington. Registry eligibility notice to sit for RRT exam from NBRC required. Current CPR certification required and advanced life support credential required within 90 days of hire depending on specific position (NRP, PALS or ACLS).
