Position Overview:
Multimatic Indiana - New Haven has an opening for an CNC Programmer for 3rd shift. Successful candidates will maintain CNC equipment and be responsible for programing and set-up of various 3-axis CNC machines. Duties will also include support of all preventative maintenance programs within an automotive environment. Typical machined materials include aluminum and steel parts, and production tooling components for the automotive industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Programming CNC code from provided CAD data utilizing Mastercam X software
- Setting up appropriate machining tools, offsets and materials as required
- Operating CNC machines and verifying finished components as required
- Operate other toolroom equipment as needed, i.e., manual mill, manual lathe, surface grinder, overhead crane, saw, etc.
- Interacting with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Toolmakers/Apprentices to develop manufacturable components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues
- Ensuring that the customer’s requirements, which include project timing, part quality and delivery, are understood and met
- Ensuring the shop environment is safe, clean and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques
- Observing all company safety rules, policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree from a technical university or equivalent years’ of experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience on 3D cad/cam system
- Minimum 5 years knowledge of metal cutting and machining process
- Strong problem-solving techniques & communication skills
- Production tooling experience an asset
- Ability to read & interpret blue prints
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportion to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish fact, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
