Summary
Golf Course Maintenance is responsible for performing a variety of grounds maintenance duties to a standard set by the Golf Course Superintendent. Work performed at a moderate, constant pace, but may vary slightly depending on the demands of the job required. The worker must be able to work flexible hours, with some weekend morning duties while meeting regular and predictable onsite attendance.
Qualifications - Education, Experience and Training
Must be 18 years of age or older. Two years of golf course experience with good understanding of the game of golf. A valid Illinois State Driver's license. Must possess a willingness to learn the industry, a general background with some experience in golf course work, landscaping, nursery work or lawn maintenance is required. The worker must be able to work with others, be punctual and conscientious of their work and surroundings. Must possess necessary and relative knowledge to be sufficiently skilled to perform a wide variety of golf maintenance tasks under supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Essential Functions
- Operate tractors, mowers and various hand tools including string trimmers, hand pruners/cutting knives, and backpack blowers.
- Ability to mow and trim using tractors, mowers and trimmers.
- Mowing of Golf Course Grounds, Fairways, Tees, Rough and Greens.
- Raking Sand Bunkers with or Without Machine.
- Clean and Organize Maintenance Facility.
- Shoveling Sand, Gravel and Topsoil.
- Trimming Long Grass with String Trimmer.
- Fill and Lift Water Coolers.
- Change Cups on Greens and Tee Markers.
- Hand Watering Turf.
- Repair Irrigation Leaks.
- Trim Trees and Shrubs.
- Fertilizing and Seeding of Turf.
- Participate in relevant safety trainings.
- Assist with special projects, installation and clean up as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
