Splash Park Attendant

SUMMARY

The Splash Park Attendant will perform daily operational and supervisory tasks to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all. The attendant will directly report to the Assistant Director Recreation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures the splash park, pavilion, restrooms, and grounds are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition
• Responsible for light housekeeping (keeping restrooms clean and stocked)
• Performs opening and closing duties as assigned
• Completes all necessary forms for daily operation and closing procedures
• Remains alert and ready to assist splash park users
• Posts pavilion reservation information
• Courteously advises splash park patrons of all splash park rules and regulations to ensure safe use and enjoyment
• Provides good customer service to all splash park patrons and fellow employees in the performance of duties
• Periodically assists park staff with revenue reconciliation procedures
• Performs work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Understands both written and oral work orders to complete assigned tasks
• Readily complies with departmental and municipal policies and procedures
• Performs related special projects as assigned
• The physical demands and environmental factors listed below, as well as regular attendance, are also essential functions for this position

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to work from Memorial Day through Labor Day
• Attention to details
• Ability to work independently
• Prior customer service experience is a plus
• Able to maintain a positive demeanor in all kinds of weather
• Ability to work weekends and/or holidays

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to read and comprehend safety materials and instructions
• Ability to use good judgment to determine action needed during emergency situations
• Possess good oral communication skills
• Ability to establish a good working relationship with employees and maintain a good relationship with the public in all age groups
• CPR/AED certification and all clearance required upon hire

• Works outside in the heat, sun, high humidity, and wind
• Slippery surfaces with basic crowd noise factors
