Summary/Primary Purpose:  Providing case management for the emergency assistance department.  Works with clients and other agencies to provide needed services.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts all client interviews regarding needs for assistance.
  2. Network with other community agencies and know what they provide (and to prevent duplication of services).
  3. Maintain adequate supplies within the food pantry so as to be able to provide emergency food assistance to clients who come for assistance.
  4. Maintain and prepare reports and statistics required by The Salvation Army.
  5. Maintain an organized filing system of confidential client records, including backups of computerized data and entry of required documentation in the SIMS system.
  6. Facilitate the disbursement of funds to clients for emergency assistance throughout the year.
  7. Plan and execute the process of providing Christmas Assistance to clients during the holidays including Thanksgiving.
  8. Operates multiline telephone system to answer incoming calls and direct callers to the appropriate personnel.  This includes providing information on available services to callers and taking messages when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
  9. Pathway of Hope (POH) responsibilities include developing and collaboration of partnerships within community and actively recruits families that may benefit from POH initiatives.
  10. Responsible for case management with POH participants to ensure comprehensive assessments, goals and action plans are monitored.
  11. Forwards correspondence related to mail appeal to Divisional Headquarters, Direct Mail office.
  12. Attends relevant training sessions as directed by Corps Officer.
  13. Present a professional and positive manner when representing The Salvation Army.
  14. Assist Pantry Coordinator as needed.
  15. Attends weekly & monthly staff meetings.
  16. Driving is an essential function of the role.
  17. Other duties as assigned.
