Mural Arts seeks a Development Associate. This individual is essential to the execution of day-to-day operations of the Development Department and the Board of Trustees. The main areas of responsibility include Board liaison, liaison to the Executive Director, donor services and data entry and departmental administration. The Development Associate will also have opportunities to contribute to event support, develop relationships with donors, partners, and vendors, and be involved in other departmental activities.
This position is full-time, hybrid, and reports to the Senior Director of Development.
Responsibilities:
Board Liaison:
- Serve as the main point of contact for Board-related administration and tasks
- Manage Board documents, including meeting minutes and Board governance documents
- Schedule and attend all Board and committee meetings
- Prepare packets and presentations for Board meetings
- Prepare new Board member orientation materials
Executive Director Liaison:
- Work closely with the Executive Director’s Assistant to prepare information for upcoming donor and funder meetings
- Work closely with the Executive Director’s Assistant to provide weekly tasks and schedule communications and meetings with donors.
- Create and send invitations invitations to upcoming events on behalf of the Executive Director
Department Administration & Data Management responsibilities:
- Accurately prepares and distributes donor correspondence including acknowledgment letters per established department timeline.
- Maintains the accuracy of all donor data across individual, corporate, foundation, and government donors. Works closely with the Manager of Development Operations to ensure data health and integrity.
- Assists with routine and special appeal mailings.
- Coordinate benefits fulfillment for annual campaign and special campaigns.
- Processes development event registrations, ticket sales, and RSVPs.
- Attend development-related events
- Assist the Manager of Development Operations with gift processing and gift entry in Salesforce during high volume times.
- Acts as representative of the department and Mural Arts at meetings, events, through answering phones, and responding to email inquiries in a friendly, well-informed, and professional manner.
- Conduct prospect research and maintains a high degree of confidentiality concerning any materials or information relating to donor records.

The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience (2-3 years) strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Salesforce’s Nonprofit Success Pack or comparable data entry experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google suite programs is required;
- Knowledge of BoardEffect preferred
- Desire to be situated in nonprofit Development department and learn about Development services and operations
- High degree of confidentiality concerning information relating to donor records, Board activity and Executive Director correspondence
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening)
- Exceptional attention to detail; Organized and methodical approach to work
- Strong analytical abilities and commitment to problem-solving
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively to meet departmental goals
Other position details:
- This position is a full-time, hybrid position and will require significant time using a computer.
- This position also requires being on-site (Philadelphia) for certain events and functions.
Mural Arts is pleased to offer a competitive and comprehensive health and dental benefits package. Salary range $45,000-50,000.
