What To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Leads the Americas Security Team (CSIRT & SOC operations).
- Supports and consults local security teams for Murata Electronics America and affiliate companies on cyber security matters.
- Single point of contact between Murata Electronics America and affiliate companies when communicating with the Global Security Team (GST) in Japan.
- Focuses on improving the design and performance of the Murata Electronics America’s security team with input from the GST and other security teams.
- Organizes and reviews internal audits for affiliates and offices.
- Manages related projects, implementations, and issues for the security team.
- Participates in budgeting, resource planning, and implementation.
- Addresses nonconformities, corrective actions, and opportunities for improvement at Murata Electronics America and affiliates with the security team.
- Reports to the Global Security Team in Japan and the Vice President of Digital Experience in America.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information security, computer science, or related field.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar certification.
- 7 years of experience in information and cyber security roles in an enterprise environment.
- 3 years of experience in a management role with at least one direct report.
- Experience in implementing and operationalizing established security controls frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or the Critical Security Controls (CIS).
- Experience in implementing and managing security tools such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, NDR, NAC, DLP, Firewalls, and IDS/IPS.
- Ability to work evenings and/or holidays to solve issues when security incidents occur.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Initial training may require an extended business trip or several trips to Japan.
- Requires international business trips several times a year in addition to travelling domestically to Murata Americas and affiliates.
