MOCA Summer Art Camps Manager
The Summer Art Camps Manager is responsible for the day to day administration of MOCA Summer Art Camps. This is a temporary position spanning June 5 - August 23, and will direct the set-up, run, and supervise the completion of the MOCA Summer Art Camps.
Major Areas of Responsibility
· Manage the day to day functions of camp and ensure a safe and healthy environment, both physically and mentally for campers during their time at MOCA’s Summer Art Camps
· Assist in ensuring clear communication with Summer Camp Educators, Volunteers, Parents and the MOCA Staff.
· Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude with staff, parents, and campers.
· ensure all supplies are ordered and properly accounted for, including day to day supplies and camp t shirts.
· Oversee that activities are effectively and safely implemented following risk management protocol.
· Direct the off-site fieldtrips including reservation of buses, communication with community partners, and delivery of lunches for campers.
· Manage a clear attendance provided by the Summer Camp Educators and submit reports after every class.
· Assist in end of day meetings with Summer Camp Educators and Youth Education Manager to ensure any issues are addressed with staff.
· Maintain in contact with MOCA Staff, including attending any trainings, meetings, or communicating any issues.
· Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, patience, and flexibility.
· Assist in the completion of accurate pre and post assessments of all campers by using guidelines created by The Children’s Trust.
· Maintain a consistent and punctual schedule.
· Other responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
· Ability to exhibit the energy and physical stamina to work with children of varying ages.
· Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
· Ability to deal with stressful conditions in a calm and professional manner.
· Skill to work with children of various ages by demonstrating patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to handle disruptive children effectively.
· May be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in various forms.
· May be required to work outside for extended periods of time.
· May be required to sit, stand, or maintain physical activity for extended periods of time.
Reports to: Youth Education Manager
Terms: Independent contract employment, must participate in mandatory trainings for communication guidelines, assessment, and inclusion.
Compensation: $18 per hour, Monday – Friday 40hrs a week, June 5 - August 23, 2024
