Overview:
Music Central is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Band Instrument Repair Technician to join our team. As a crucial member of our organization, you will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and adjusting a wide variety of band instruments to ensure optimal performance. Responsibilities:

  • Instrument Repair: Perform repairs, overhauls, and adjustments on various band instruments including brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments.
  • Diagnosis: Inspect instruments to identify issues and determine the most effective repair solutions.
  • Maintenance: Clean, oil, and lubricate instruments to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to ensure that repaired instruments meet performance standards and customer expectations.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for instrument repair and maintenance.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their needs, provide expert advice, and deliver exceptional service throughout the repair process.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of all repairs, including work performed, parts used, and customer information.

Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in repairing a wide range of band instruments, including brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. Experience with soldering, and woodworking is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the mechanics and construction of various instruments, along with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to precision craftsmanship in all repair work.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both colleagues and customers.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and manage workload efficiently.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-centric approach with a dedication to providing outstanding service and building positive relationships with musicians and clients.
  • Education: A degree or certification in instrument repair or a related field is preferred, although equivalent experience may be considered.
