WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are currently seeking a skilled Shipping Coordinator to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate and record the movement of parts, supplies, raw materials, equipment, and stock to designated customers. DAY IN THE LIFE OF:
As a Shipping Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
- Picking and packing products, as well as processing orders in the computer system.
- Electronically retrieving and transmitting customer orders, ship notices, and other related documents.
- Coordinating custom orders and processing shipments to identified customers as directed by the supervisor.
- Completing freight bills, weighing shipments, determining costs, and coordinating pick-ups with freight companies.
- Loading products for shipment onto courier and delivery trucks.
- Preparing and completing freight bills of lading electronically and/or manually.
- Providing freight rate/transit quotes and weight dimensions of products.
- Loading packed orders onto outgoing freight vehicles.
- Maintaining a clean and safe immediate workspace.
- Following all safety regulations and reporting hazards, injuries, and accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Receiving cross-training on other jobs as required.
- Adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of stockkeeping experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in shipping considered an asset.
- Reach truck certification and experience considered an asset.
- Ability to operate a forklift required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Good command of English, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to adapt and work well in a continuously changing environment.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and highly motivated.
- Basic math skills and measurements of all units of measures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walking, standing, and sitting.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Steel toe boots required.
- Compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Safety glasses, back braces, regulated safety knives, and gloves provided.
