Apprentice Marine Technician

This is a paid training position. Your pay will be based on your skills in the industry. Marine Technicians and Auto Mechanics are encouraged to apply to our other ads where we are looking for trained and certified technicians.

Job Overview:
Mutiny Marine is looking for a mechanically skilled apprentice to fill the role of a marine technician eventually. We are looking for someone with a high level of mechanical aptitude and the willingness to learn the craft in this high-paced industry. We are a small company with an amazing atmosphere. Responsibilities:

• Learn the basics by watching and interacting with our technicians
• Learn how to perform routine maintenance and inspections on marine vessels
• Learn our diagnostic procedure and replicate what you find into words and type the repair recommendation into our internal computer system
• Repair or replace faulty components and parts
• Learn to conduct precision measurements using specialized tools and equipment
• Utilize power tools to complete repairs and installations while assisting our technicians
• Learn about pontoon boat construction and assist in our building and reconditioning pontoon boats while gaining knowledge on how their systems function
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines
• You must work well under the guidance of your superiors and co-workers
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe workplace by organizing your area between services or at the end of the day

Requirements:

• You must possess your basic hand tools such as sockets, screw drivers, wrenches, tool box, etc.
• You must have the ability to leave Michigan for further training and certification. We only leave the state once a year during the winter months and we are gone for usually a week. Pay and lodging is provided.
• You must be punctual to work and a self-starter
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to understand how to read and translate the information from a customer repair order.
• Must have basic computer knowledge to type your notes on each serviced repair order

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
