Marine Technician

Job description

Mutiny Marine is looking for a motivated marine technician to join our team. We are looking for someone self-motivated, has a positive attitude, and enjoys working in a team environment. This position requires you to be punctual and professional. We are a Mercury Marine and Suzuki Marine certified dealership. Further certification and dealership training is available.

This is an hourly rate plus overtime position. Saturday work is required as needed but we may make an exception for the right candidate. Marine mechanics with a proven track record and master certifications may qualify for our flat rate pay scale. More details in person if you fit these qualifications. All holidays are OFF WITH PAY including during the summer months!

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair mechanical components of boats and vessels
• In-depth diagnostics of stern drive, outboard, and inboard systems
• Assist in generating a parts list with estimated repair time after diagnosis is complete
• Complete jobs within maintenance and repair guidelines
• Have a proven track record with minimal comebacks or customer complaints
• Perform routine maintenance work on mechanical systems (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) and fix malfunctions
• Diagnose issues with vehicles (engine, charging system, gear case, electrical etc.)and repair or replace defective units
• Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.)and perform minor repairs
• Keep logs of work and report on issues
• Maintain inventory of parts and keep logs of where and when new ones were purchased
• Comply with all health and safety regulations
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Understand and can comfortably navigate a service manual both online and paper.
• Must have your own tools including some specialty tools needed to preform this job.
• Assist during vehicle maintenance sessions when needed
• THIS IS NOT A TRAINING POSITION. CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED

Skills

• Proven experience as a marine technician in a Team Environment
• Experience with mechanical knowledge and ability to diagnose problems with mechanical units is preferred.
• Ability to read & follow diagrams is required.
• Aptitude in using electronic devices (e.g. tablets) to conduct maintenance work is required.

Salary: $25.00 - $32.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
