Associate, Financial Operations

MVAR Media, a leading Democratic political media consulting firm, is seeking an Associate for Financial Operations to join our growing team. This position is based in Alexandria, VA and is available through December 2024.

Responsibilities

The Associate for Financial Operations will report to the CFO and be primarily responsibility for coordinating with the production team, digital team, and media operations team to ensure that all accounts payable are tracked, updated and entered into the accounting system properly. This work involves a large volume of data entry, tracking of multiple projects simultaneously, and coordinating across teams to solve problems. The responsibilities will include:

• Verifying and entering accounts payable data into QuickBooks with a high level of accuracy.
• Working with production, digital and media operations teams to ensure billing is completed on time.
• Working with outside vendors to collect and verify invoices.
• Identifying and correcting mistakes as they arise.
• Reconciling vendor accounts.
• Assisting with other accounting tasks and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail is an absolute must.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management.
• Ability to multi-task and keep track of many clients and projects developing simultaneously.
• A team mentality; this role is collaborative and integrates with others.
• High level of computer competency and willingness to quickly learn new software. Prior experience with QuickBooks is a plus, but not required.
• Willingness to work on a campaign schedule, which often includes early mornings, weekends and odd hours.
