This role can be based remotely.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Within guidelines and general supervision, performs multiple functions in support of Core Bank and Fintech. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality control, compliance, and monitoring processes to ensure the Bank’s compliance with laws, regulations, and Bank and Fintech policies and procedures. To ensure success, candidates should be skillful at analyzing risk and compliance components; possess an attention to detail; be able to meet deadlines and effectively adapt to changes in deadlines and priorities; and be exceptional communicators. This Analyst will collaborate across business and functional lines and will be regularly included within client discovery processes. The specific duties assigned to this individual within the area of bank operations may change from time to time, based upon the specific requirements of the bank. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage all special deposit program offerings for the Bank and be the subject matter expert on the daily operations of these programs. This role will also have responsibility in managing the relationships with various vendors that MVB partners with for these initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Compliance and Risk Management, to address any red flags or anomalies identified during the opening and screening of accounts classified under Deposit Program offerings.
  • Perform meticulous customer screenings and conduct due diligence checks to identify potential risks or unusual activity or red flags in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure all required customer information and supporting documentation are captured for the new and existing deposit program customers who are going through a triggering event or material change.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer screening results and CIP verification processes, ensuring compliance and data privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Proactively identifies and modifies procedures and process maps, to increase level of service and promotes operational efficiency in operations functions.
  • Work with Account Managers to address or remediate identified action items.
  • Complete all required training timely and be proactive in seeking additional relevant training opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in the financial services industry.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the banking or financial services industry is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills to effectively identify potential risks or unusual activity and red flags.
  • Ability to understand and analyze large amounts of data and be detail oriented and quick to spot irregularities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook and in using various software applications, databases, and tools for conducting screenings and managing customer information.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Ability to learn, comprehend and define new systems and processes.
  • Intermediate experience knowledge and training in Bank/Fintech operation activities, terminology and products and services related to retail and commercial account customers.
  • General knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and Bank/Fintech operation polices.
