What You’ll Get to Do!!
The Logistics Specialist I will support the 24 hour, 7 days a week operation by arranging and overseeing ground passenger transportation, to include travel performed via company-owned and leased vans and office-to-airport shuttles. The position will manage several daily transportation projects as well as transport passengers and employees between customer sites, field office, and the local airport. The Logistics Specialist manages vehicles transportation, oversees vehicle safety including regular preventative and corrective maintenance, and ensures drivers are authorized by law to operate vehicles. Orders supplies to maintain inventory levels. The Logistics Specialist will work with the Travel Analysts to schedule vehicle departures and arrivals, assign drivers, manage mileage, and fuel consumption and provide overall management of transportation projects.
Key functions you will perform!
- Adheres to organization policies and procedures including program Standard Operation Procedures.
- Drives passengers to and from client sites or airports.
- Responsible for logging and the reporting of all vehicle activities into software application.
- Drives and drops off vehicles scheduled for routine maintenance service (tire rotation, oil changes, etc.).
- Cleans vehicles, sanitizes interiors, and ensures they are fueled and ready for ground trips.
- Assigns vehicles based on the number of transport specialist and passengers traveling, installs and removes child booster seats based on age and height/weight, as required.
- Checks and records refrigerator temperature twice per day.
- Inventories passenger supplies for clothing, shoes, toiletries, orders and assembles individual hygiene packs.
- Orders passenger meals, snacks, and beverages.
- Enters all items provided to passengers into the tracking system.
- Prepares backpacks with essentials including tablet and mobile phone for trips.
- Maintains communication on the status of vehicles in route with all necessary parties affected.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you will need to have:
- Associates degree or a high school diploma.
- 0 - 1 year of experience in social work, corrections, or similar occupational field.
- Some experience with vehicle maintenance.
- Experience using tablets and smart phone technology.
- Ability to pass a Government Security Background Investigation, including a favorable credit check, no criminal record, and no prior drug use.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Inventory and surveillance software experience preferred.
- Possess a valid and current driver’s license with good driving record.

- Able to work a flexible work schedule including holidays, overnights, and weekends.
- Familiar with fleet management concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Highly motivated with exceptional time management skills to handle multiple priorities and follow through successfully.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and in a team setting.
- Able to maintain and safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
- Knowledge of tablet and smart phone technology.
- Ability to comprehend and speak (both) Spanish and English fluently.

- Favorable credit check
