Shipping & Receiving Associate

Description

The Shipping and Receiving Associate works in a fast-paced, creative environment working under Meow Wolf’s Director of Retail Operations.  This position will assist the Merchandise Warehouse Coordinator with the inventory of retail merchandise as well as a selection of non-merchandise items including, but not limited to retail supplies, marketing items, facilities goods, etc.  This position is responsible for verifying all incoming deliveries, receiving, and quality control of shipments at our merchandise warehouse.  Additionally, they will be responsible for the replenishment of products and supplies at our exhibits and other locations as needed.  They will also be held accountable for keeping detailed records of all incoming and outgoing products as well as maintaining the warehouse, keeping it clean and organized at all times. 

Requirements

Job Responsibilities    

• Loading and unloading of trucks and shipping containers, both manually and using a forklift
• Receive and process incoming merchandise and non-merchandise
• Unpack, examine, and store incoming shipments. Counting, inspecting, and verifying all product shipments to ensure accuracy and quality control standards
• Catalog information, data entry, and maintain impeccable organization.
• Coordinate with the INC Merchandise team to maintain timely acknowledgement of received merchandise.
• Maintain all storage facilities and receiving areas with an organized knowledge of where assets are located and stored.
• Receive and track inventory using the Retail Inventory Management system.
• Maintain accurate stock records in the Retail Inventory Management system.
• Work with the location staff to coordinate delivery of regular and/or time-sensitive merchandise, supplies, or other items to the requested location.
• Weekly cleaning of the storage area and inventory of logistics supplies.
• Comply with all safety and security protocols.
• Provide inventory data to support asset management within the inventory database.
• Operates forklift, pallet jacks and/or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas. Utilizes tools and materials such as a steel bander and stretch wrap safely and efficiently.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
• Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations following established OSHA regulations
• Provide shipping support company wide as needed
• Perform scheduled inventory counts as needed
• All other tasks as assigned by management personnel

Required Qualifications

• Experience in an a warehouse, retail, big box store, dock, storage facility or related environment
• Familiarity with receiving and delivery practices, inventory management and safety procedures
• Good understanding of Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Possess a ‘safety first’ mentality with the awareness to operate in close proximity to warehouse equipment
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle records check at time of hire

Desired Qualifications

• Forklift experience preferred
• Familiarity with Inventory management, Warehouse management, POS and eCommerce software systems a plus

Work Environment and Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. 

Work Environment: This position is based in a warehouse environment and will require frequent trips to the shop(s) to deliver inventory.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period of time
• Lifting and maneuvering a minimum of 70 pounds
• Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a keyboard, bending, or squatting
• Work in “non-climate” controlled environment

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule which may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
