Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Practice Manager for MyGeneTeam’s patient counseling services.

This is an exciting time to join our growing organization. MyGeneTeam was formed by experienced genetic counselors who saw a need for access to genetic services in the healthcare community. MyGeneTeam connects healthcare providers, organizations, patients and families with experts in the rapidly evolving field of genetics. Our team specializes in reproductive genetics, cardiogenetics, hereditary cancer and clinical genomics. The Practice Manager is responsible for the effective management of patient counseling services through:

  • Oversight of day-to-day practice operations, including patient scheduling and document management
  • Assisting administrative and clinical teams in case management
  • Liaising between providers, patients and clients of the practice
  • Evaluating workforce performance and compliance with established standard operating procedures and protocols
  • Supervision of administrative staff
  • Responding to operational issues as they arise, reporting and escalating to leadership as needed
  • Assists in projects as needed
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Health Care field/Medical Office Management or Administration preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years in a medical office setting, ideally in both pediatrics and adult medicine
  • Two to three years in a supervisory or management position preferred, including staff supervision and performance reviews
  • Knowledge of regulations related to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance, HIPAA and labor law
  • Professional communication skills, including face-to-face, email, telephone, and video conferencing, with healthcare providers, medical office staff, laboratories and patients
  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills
  • Skill in using healthcare software and computer systems
  • Multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work remotely and independently with general supervision
