Position Overview: As an Accountant at My Investments Matter, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various accounts and systems. Your responsibilities will include setting up escrow accounts, maintaining company payroll, overseeing multiple bank accounts, managing utility accounts, and performing bookkeeping duties. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Escrow Management
- Set up and manage escrow accounts for various transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of escrow payments and disbursements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external parties to facilitate escrow processes
Payroll Administration:
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently for all employees.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations and company policies.
- Handle inquiries and resolve payroll-related issues promptly.
Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (Quickbooks).
- Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, on a regular basis.
- Prepare financial reports (daily account reports, profit reports etc.) and summaries for management review.
Multiple Bank Account Oversight:
- Manage and reconcile transactions across multiple bank accounts including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Monitor account balances and cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for operations.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in bank statements and transactions.
Utility Account Management:
- Set up and maintain utility accounts for the company and additional properties.
- Monitor utility usage and expenses, seeking opportunities for optimization.
- Coordinate with utility providers to resolve billing issues and ensure uninterrupted service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, Google drive, and Quickbooks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
