Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Clinton Township, MI
Compensation: $45,000-$50,000 per year
Schedule:
· Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel when needed.
· Office hours may vary based on the distribution center locations.
Position Overview:
As a Carrier Coordinator, your role is vital in managing the carrier network efficiently. You will be responsible for load planning, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, resolving issues, and optimizing transportation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Load Planning and Carrier Selection: Apply logistics expertise to determine the most suitable carriers, modes, and transportation strategies, with a focus on balancing service quality and cost-effectiveness.
Operations Management: Manage day-to-day activities, including load tracking and tracing, and promptly communicate load changes or issues.
Carrier Support: Assist carriers in resolving issues related to loading, pickup appointments, and ensure effective communication with relevant parties.
Efficiency and Continuous Improvement: Participate in account and customer-related programs and special projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Transportation Metrics: Be aware of and identify optimal freight solutions to achieve and exceed transportation metrics, including Cost Per Pallet, Order Tender Lead Time, On-Time Performance, and Customer Trailer Pool.
Data Analysis: Utilize analytical skills to generate daily, weekly, and periodic reports from the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other systems, facilitating cost and performance-based continuous improvement.
Optimization: Continuously analyze the cost efficiency of existing lanes, routing guides, and load configurations, implementing improvements when needed.
Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of procedures and processes, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, finance, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 1 year of supply chain, logistics, dispatching, load planning, or work in the transportation industry required.
Prior experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment is highly preferred.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
