Job Purpose
Production planning and Inventory Control including continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reporting to Materials Manager.
- Work closely with engineering and production on work order releases and revisions.
- Manage and ensure all work orders are released in a timely manner.
- Manage, oversee and monitor the inventory accuracy to avoid delays in production.
- Routinely monitor production and manufacturing data base counts.
- Oversee daily cycle counts.
- Responsible for assessing and monitoring Booking report, REC Location report, Engineering Hold report, New Make report, Negative reports, Work Orders with Zero Balance Due report, Planned Order report, Action Message report, and Work Order by Order.
- Coordinate with receiving and stockroom to allocate product correctly and cross check against bill of materials.
- Participate in the weekly planning meetings and provide accurate status reports to management.
- Monitor backlogs for past due orders or expedited shipping.
- Coordinate with shipping to monitor ATS (available to ship) location.
- Manage month-end closing to clear all transactions.
- Work closely with Junior Planners and provide mentoring and direction.
- Assist with mid-year and year-end audits as assigned.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in planning and inventory control.
- Help to deploy efficiencies and improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for working to meet and exceed the company's annual KPI's each year for the department.
- Maintain clean and safe work area.
- All duties assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or management.
- Responsible for understanding and executing Company goals and objectives while actively contributing to the cohesiveness of the team.
Qualifications:
Education
o High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
· Experience
Minimum 5 years of planning experience required.
Proficient with ERP/MRP.
CPIM certification required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Intermediate business math skills
Strong and effective communication skills
Abilities
o Able to report timely and accurately
o Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, verbal and diagrammatic form.
o Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
