Job Summary

We are looking for an Animal Care Technician II to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Watertown, MA.

What will you do?

As the Animal Care Technician II, you will monitor daily animal health and welfare while performing health observations to ensure the quality and health of the research animals in your care.

It will be your responsibility to review, comprehend and comply with all SOPs and quality assurance standards pertaining to these animals.

You will also be responsible for :

Perform animal care and husbandry to include daily water bottle / automatic water line and cage checks, cage changing and / or cage cleaning as required;

provide food and water; and record health concerns. Perform cagewash duties.

• Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health, and housing / isolator, or support areas.
• Receive, inspect, and house incoming animals; ensuring sentinel animal are in each rodent housing area.
• Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species.
• May become involved in breeding and weaning procedures.
• Will be trained on triaging health cases, malocclusion, treatment of wounds and other skills necessary.
• Monitor personnel and equipment entry into various rooms.
• Operate required equipment and performs general housekeeping.

Who are we looking for?

ALAT certification required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - 26.00 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
