Aloha~ The overall objective of the department in which this position works is: To develop and support systems, content, and processes that enable business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision making across the organization. The major function of the position is: To define, implement, and manage enterprise data architecture for reporting and analytics. Lead the full data architecture and engineering lifecycle, from business requirements to design, development, testing, deployment, and optimization. Build and support capabilities that deliver business value from data. Essential Duties: Understand business analytical objectives and map those objectives to data requirements. Lead a combination of internal and external resources to design and implement data models to effectively organize and transform data into the information needed to achieve business analytical objectives. Optimize data models for performance, efficiency, and security. Maintain standard business definitions for data elements and advocate for consistent use throughout the organization. Create and maintain diagrams and documentation of data architecture and data models. Design and manage processes to enhance data quality. Build and maintain ETL and data pipeline processes to integrate data from disparate sources systems into the enterprise data platform. Direct the ongoing processes required to operate the enterprise data platform and ensure all processes are appropriately documented. Understand the organization’s enterprise data landscape and the data structure of key source systems. Advocate for consistent and sustainable methodology, modeling, and governance in addressing data requirements of the organization. Deliver data to support ad-hoc business analytical needs. Other duties as assigned. Desired Qualifications: As a guide, indicated below is the preferred education and experience for this position: Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related discipline 5 years data modeling or data warehouse management experience Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing ETL and data pipeline processes Advanced skills in writing SQL, DDL, and DML in a data warehouse context Experience leading project teams Knowledge and experience with cloud-based data architectures is desirable, specifically AWS S3 data lake and AWS Redshift data warehouse Experience with business intelligence tools is preferable, specifically Tableau Experience with emerging technologies such as predictive analytics, unstructured data, NoSQL databases, text analytics is a plus Database administration experience is beneficial Knowledge of SAP ECC data structures and functionality is preferable Knowledge of business processes and functions such as order-to-cash, inventory, G/L and supply chain is desirable Skills preferred for this position: Creative, analytical and problem-solving abilities Attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with agile project methodology Initiative, ability to learn quickly, and enthusiasm Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines concurrently Work Shift: Special Language Requirement (If Applicable): At Maui Jim we are passionate about making the best sunglasses in the world and providing customer service like you’ve never seen.
