JOB SUMMARY:

The Veterinarian is responsible for ensuring all animals are treated with compassion and receive current medical attention. The Associate Veterinarian is responsible to evaluate, diagnose, and treat each pet under his/her care to the best of their ability and ensure timely communication of care is relayed to the client. The Associate Veterinarian must enrich the customer’s bond to AMC and treat all members of the team with courtesy and respect.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited veterinary school required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years of clinical experience in a veterinary clinic setting preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid Georgia DVM license in good standing (or eligibility for licensure) required.

  • Valid DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) license in good standing required.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations on patients and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and treat medical conditions, including but not limited to infections, injuries, and diseases.
  • Be available to perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and soft tissues surgeries.
  • Provide preventive care, including vaccinations, parasite control and dental care.
  • Educate clients on topics such as nutrition, behavior, and preventative healthcare measures.
  • Provide timely communication (verbal and written) to clients and team members as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and clear medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory and clinic standards.
  • Collaborate and delegate effectively with colleagues and support staff to provide and teach seamless patient care and procedures.
  • Participate in continuing education to stay abreast of advancement in veterinary medicine and technology.
  • Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
  • Attending clinic staff and physician meetings and events.
