We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Corporate Controller. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of accounting and financial reporting within our organization. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning and operations.

This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Financial Strategy & Controls, this is a full-time, salaried position offering excellent growth opportunities. This position is open to hybrid employment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting).
  • Manage and optimize financial processes and systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate comprehensive annual audits.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the financial and operational effectiveness of the organization.
  • Analyze financial data, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate with external tax consultants to manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in accounting or finance. Managerial experience preferred.
  • Strong foundation in GAAP, ASC 606, and ASC 842, with the ability to apply these standards in practice.
  • Good understanding of cost accounting principles and the ability to analyze standard costs.
  • Proficient in the use of financial software and technology, with the ability to adapt to new systems. NetSuite knowledge preferred but not required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading and developing a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information in an understandable manner.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize duties effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Capacity to remain composed under pressure and balance competing demands.
