Medical Assistant (FT)

Location(s) Oregon City and Milwaukie

Pay Scale: $22-25.83 per hour depends upon medical experience and employment longevity.

MyTeam Medical Staffing Services seeks to fill five (5) Medical Assistant positions; two (2) in Oregon City and three (3) in Milwaukie. Medical Assistants will have a minimum of 1-year current physician office or clinic experience preferably in Primary Care. Ideal Medical Assistant will have proven work experience and verifiable reference.

EDUCATION | CERTIFICATIONS | SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program: Required
  • One year related experience and/or training; experience in primary care: Preferred
  • Previous EPIC or EHR experience: Required
  • Bi-lingual Spanish but not mandatory: Preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Certification through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification program, such as AAMA, NCCT, AMT, or NHA - Required

JOB DUTIES

  • Stocks and cleans exam rooms in between visits, cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment, and sets up appropriate equipment according to visit type.
  • Assists patients with completion of forms (release of information, etc.).
  • Documents in the medical record all patient activity and contact.
  • Obtains prior authorizations as required.
  • Transmits new and refill prescription orders.
  • Inputs correct historical labs to maintain up to date lab results data on patients.
  • Conducts patient follow-up, including referral paperwork and assisting patients in scheduling additional medical tests or appointments.
  • Provides patient with after-visit summary, verbally reviews the information, and ensures all questions are answered and next steps in care are understood.
  • Communicates lab results as directed by the provider either by letter or by phone.
  • Communicates expected wait times to patients, providers and front office staff
  • Assists in new employee training on specific tasks, as needed.
  • Participates in team huddles to review the schedule at the start of the clinic day.
  • Participates in process and quality improvement workflows.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to take and record vital signs and performed assigned lab tests.
  • Ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing with a service oriented approach, sometimes in stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA policies.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to answer and utilize multiple line telephone.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing information and/or policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to display sensitivity to the population and patients served.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a record of reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to proficiently use EPIC Electronic Health Record.
  • Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in Spanish highly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.83 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
