Overview
Nakupuna Consulting is seeking to hire a Senior Project Manager to lead our Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base (MAX-GUN AFB), Network & Data Consolidation Center (NDCC) and Air Education and Training Command (AETC) Data Center Consolidation (DCC) project team in Montgomery, AL. The candidate will be responsible for the successful execution of projects and assist in base-level planning, coordination activities, and documentation requirements in all areas pertaining to the MAX-GUN AFB Cyberspace environment. They will also provide overall management support of Nakupuna staff ensuring alignment, growth, and exceptional client support.
Responsibilities

- Responsible for the professionalism, timeliness, and quality of all contract requirements and deliverables.
- Ensure execution of contract operation support functions, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, invoicing, and performance requirements.
- Responsible for personnel management functions (e.g., performance management and assessment, mentoring, counseling, recruitment, hiring and firing, time and attendance, leave approval).
- Ensure development of project Management Plans outlining the management approach, management controls, organizational resources to be employed, deliverables, and delivery dates.
- Responsible for systems documentation including as-built drawings, testing and acceptance, proper commissioning for network (Risk Management Framework, Authorization to Connect/Operate, Cybersecurity politics).
- Work on behalf of the Wing Program/Project Manager/Information Systems owner and AFNetOps to review the planning of base transmission media and telecommunications systems networks.
- Respond to data calls and tasking from the Wing, AU, and AETC.
- Evaluate new projects and network requirements to ensure strict adherence to Unified Facility Code (UFC) 3-580-01 standards criteria, existing DoD, AF, and AETC security policies.
- Provide status briefings and reports summarizing project budget and milestone accomplishments.
- Coordinate and document Network Work Centers’ activities pertaining to cyberspace infrastructure and systems changes in response to upward driven and downward directed requirements support.
- Update the Base Blueprint when downward directed from AETC in the Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning Systems (CIPS) to support MAJCOM-specified capabilities.
- Oversee and report to the Facilities and Infrastructure Support Services Managing Director on project performance and financial outcomes, including metrics such as profit margin, utilization, and cost execution.
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as well as a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in IT and Communications Project Management. The ideal candidate will posses’ excellent leadership qualities and leadership experience, strong interpersonal skills, adept with strategic planning and management, self-starter, exceptional written and oral communication, proficient at multi-tasking, and effective organizational skills. They will also be adept at operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and often multi-directional work environments. Additional qualifications include:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (Required)
- CompTIA Project Certification
Clearance Requirement: Must currently hold an active Secret level of security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Physical Requirements: In addition to the skills and qualifications mentioned above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to use stairs without assistance
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers
- Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, reach, kneel, crouch, bend and climb a step stool/ladder
