Job Announcement: Administrative Intern

The National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA), located in Alexandria, VA, was founded in 1938 and is the national trade association representing the political jurisdictions that directly control the distribution and sale of beverage alcohol within their borders. NABCA's mission is to support and benefit alcohol control systems by providing research, fostering relationships, and managing resources to address policy for the responsible sale and consumption of beverage alcohol.

NABCA has an immediate vacancy for an Admin Intern. The Admin Intern provides administrative support for NABCA's front desk, meetings, data team and other duties as assigned.




Duties:

  • Covers the front desk as needed and transfers calls to appropriate people.
  • Answers phones and greet guests warmly.
  • Assists with the execution of office events; printing materials, coordination of food and room set-up.
  • Operates office machines, such as copiers and scanners, facsimile machines, telephones and computers.
  • Schedules conference calls and meetings as needed.
  • Assists in filing duties.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail and delivers outgoing mail.
  • Restocks workrooms with supplies.
  • Performs data entry and MemberMax clean-up as needed.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of college experience and 1-2 years of administrative work experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week including Fridays, from 8:00-4:30.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 2016-Excel, Word and Power Point required. Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro a plus.
  • Experience conducting basic research using the Internet or similar tools required.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions and execute them accurately.
  • The ideal candidate is a professional, reliable, flexible, team player with a positive, upbeat attitude and excellent organizational skills.
