What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Counselor position at NAFI CT Inc.?
NAFI Rhode Island is currently seeking dynamic and energetic Youth Counselors for our adolescent group home located in Warwick RI. Youth Counselors provide direct oversight and supervision of residents in the milieu; ideal candidates are eager to engage and interact with the teens in the program; and act as a role model and caring adult to residents.
Job Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the comprehensive fulfillment of residents' physical and emotional needs
- Facilitating problem-solving among residents and nurturing peer relationships
- Organizing and orchestrating special activities and projects tailored for the youth
- Stimulating engagement among teenagers through pro-social and constructive activities
- Diligently observing and meticulously documenting youth activities
- Executing the daily schedule with precision and adaptability
- Offering adept de-escalation and crisis intervention support when necessary
- Actively participating in scheduled staff meetings
Educational requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Residential experience is a plus.
