About the Role
Namely is constantly improving our product and processes to elevate the client experience. As the Content Writer, you are responsible for communicating these changes to clients and internal partners via engaging knowledge articles and clear and concise email messaging.
First and foremost a skilled wordsmith, the Content Writer owns all written content produced by the Client Experience team and ensures it aligns with Namely's in-house style guide. Reporting to the Manager, Content and Communications, you'll partner closely with stakeholders in Client Operations and Product to develop robust and exciting help materials that encourage adoption of new releases, communicate important milestones, and demonstrate Namely's value to our clients.
Successful candidates will:
- Be naturally inquisitive, with an intuition for asking the right questions of subject matter experts to clarify potential points of confusion
- Be able to transform complex specs into captivating, user-friendly documentation that positions releases in the context of our annual product roadmap
- Possess an instinct for identifying the composition and tone that best serves the specific content they're producing
Responsibilities
- Publish internal and external help content that promotes adoption of new product releases and deflects incoming Service requests.
- Write product announcement communications, including email and in-app messaging, that drive client excitement of new features.
- Draft nuanced incident communications that succinctly explain client impact while maintaining confidence in the Namely brand.
- Communicate office closures and operational initiatives to internal and external audiences.
- Draft informative compliance communications that clearly indicate required actions to avoid potential fees or penalties.
- Ensure internal and client-facing articles and client communications align with Namely's style and voice.
- Create and maintain partnerships with cross-department stakeholders on upcoming product initiatives and client milestones.
- Develop internal product and incident briefs based on Product and Engineering spec documentation.
- Become an expert on Namely's product to better understand the client experience.
- Peer-review articles and communications written by other members of the Client Experience team.
- Foster a self-service environment for both employees and clients.
Skills and Competencies
- 2-3 years of professional writing experience
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Able to write for different audiences
- Excellent research skills
- Willingness to receive and act on feedback, open to constructive criticism
- Balance needs of multiple stakeholders
- Adapt to Namely's style, voice, and visual aesthetic
- Able to work cross-functionally
This position has a salary range of $60,000 - $70,000 per annum. Namely offers employees medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, equity, flexible spending accounts, $50,000 basic life and AD&D, free telehealthcare, paid vacation, holidays and sick leave, employee stock purchase plan, paid family leave, and many other available benefits. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Base pay information is based on the market location.
