IT Director

Nanosys is seeking a Director of IT to lead the development and maintenance of our information technology systems and to help with the digital transformation of our business. In this position, you will be responsible for evolving our corporate technology roadmap and ensuring Nanosys is well equipped with the tools and infrastructure needed to succeed. A successful Director of IT will be self-motivated and willing to be very hands-on in supporting day-to-day operations.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Evaluate company needs to determine which software, hardware, and other equipment is most suited for use within Nanosys’ infrastructure and budget.
  • Maintain server room to ensure Oracle and other essential services are operational and disruptions are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage and coordinate technical projects involving third party vendors.
  • Implement network security at the corporate level as established by the corporate Security Director.
  • Plan and implement modifications and improvements to network infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain company business continuity plan.
  • Manage corporate telephony systems.
  • Serve as the focal point for all inter-office IT-related matters.
  • Anticipate internal clients’ needs and propose business solutions that best align with the company's goals.
  • Ensure help desk tickets are prioritized and processed efficiently.
  • Continually seek and capitalize on opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Effectively communicate relevant IT-related information company-wide.
  • Provide and encourage personal and professional development among IT team.
  • Handle difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice, and respect.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

  • 10 years relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisor role.
  • Extensive experience with virtualization solutions (VMWare / Hyper-V), network storage solutions, and backup and security technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco and Palo Alto Networks switches and firewalls.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Linux and Windows, as well as Networking hardware, protocols and standards.
  • Extensive experience working with and deploying on-premise Oracle EBS applications as well as integrating with new and existing Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Email Security, Endpoint Management Software (Intune), etc.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and a strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Ability to work with executive stakeholders in developing IT strategy, roadmaps, and budgets.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer security practices, data privacy practices and laws.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of latest IT trends and developments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present ideas in business-friendly as well as user-friendly language.
  • Ability to tactfully communicate sensitive information.
  • Highly self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $128,289.00 - $140,302.00 per year
