Job Description
Nanoverse is a well funded technology startup that has an exciting opportunity for a Controller. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and be based out of our Center of Excellence in Beaverton, OR.
Position Summary: This is a hands-on role within a small hands-on accounting team. The Controller will be responsible for accounts payable processing, payroll processing and month-end financial close. The Controller will partner with Supply Chain personnel in support of purchase orders, vendor payments, vendor credits, and periodic inventory counts. Knowledge of full cycle accounting operations, inventory costing, GL reconciliations and sub-ledger functions are essential. Nanoverse is growing rapidly, which will allow for expanded duties. Looking for a candidate who wants to grow to be a CFO.
Role is hybrid work from home and in office in Beaverton, OR. Employer will not pay for relocation.
Specific responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable
· Code invoices, identify and capitalize fixed asset purchases.
· Process payment of authorized purchases through NetSuite and the bank.
· Work collaboratively with supply chain personnel to process received items and pay related invoices.
· Assist with bi-weekly cash projections.
Payroll
· Process monthly payroll for review by the CFO.
· Prepare entries to record payroll to the general ledger with proper support.
· Gather support for workers compensation insurance.
Accounting
· Prepare monthly journal entries in NetSuite including accruals.
· Reconcile fixed assets and record monthly depreciation.
· Partner with CFO to ensure proper revenue recognition, including analysis of warranty reserve and deferred revenue for multiple deliverables under one contract.
· Handle monthly and annual close of income statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement.
· Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
· Prepare annual property tax filing and other regulatory reports.
Inventory
· Assist with inventory costing and counting.
· Analyze parts for obsolescence.
Other
· Perform other relevant duties as required by the role or as assigned by the CFO.
Preferred Qualifications
· Accounting degree required. CPA preferred.
· At least six years of increasingly responsible accounting experience.
· Experience in accounting for manufacturing including inventory, cost of goods sold and finished goods.
· High integrity.
· Excellent analytical and prioritization skills, attention to detail, highly organized. Self starter.
· Collaborative, flexible workstyle.
· Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
· Experience with Net Suite.
· Excellent oral and written communications skills
