Job Duties:
- Evaluate and document alternative interpretations of key provisions in the US IRC using professional judgment.
- Keep abreast of tax legislation and development and devise strategies to address changes in tax law.
- Participate with and advise leadership on the tax implications of major non-recurring business activities (i.e., M&A, major legal cases / settlements).
- Lead IRS, state income and state sales tax audits and the potential defense of issues.
- Continually improve and scale current tax accounting processes, including building further automation (i.e., calculations, JEs, reconciliation processes) leveraging tax reporting software and advanced excel functions.
- Direct the documentation of audit files (calculations and internal controls) to enable an effective and efficient external auditor sign off.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- BS in Accounting, Finance or related disciple required.
- CPA and advanced degree (Master’s in Taxation) is strongly preferred.
- 5 years of progressive experience of S Corporation and Limited Liability Company income tax experience including compliance and tax accounting in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department required.
- Strong background knowledge and experience in US federal and state income taxes.
- Exceptional written, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively with team members and entity controllers.
- Results-oriented and proven problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency.
- Highest level of professional ethics, sound judgment and integrity required.
