Toddler Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the care, oversight, and accountability of children that complies with established standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Conducts daily health checks of children and observes children for signs of illness, abuse or neglect
• Create a fun and safe learning environment
• Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
• Ensures safety and sanitation of assigned children through constant supervision and attends to their physical individual needs such as diapering, feeding, toileting, and resting
• Develops and implements developmentally appropriate activities which stimulate and sustain the interest of children and that contribute to the social, cognitive, physical and emotional growth of children
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
• Observes and evaluates children’s developmental levels and documents developmental progression and/or concerns and maintains records of observations and/or evaluations.
• Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
• Maintain the health and safety of all students

Qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship is required
• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
• Completion of 45 hour required training and testing completed (if applicable)
• Early Literacy and Language Development Training
• Possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC)
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Satisfactorily complete required background checks and pass pre-employment drug test
• Must complete all initial, annual and ongoing training requirements within the specified timeframe to include CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition/Prevention
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to build rapport with children
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
