What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toddler Teacher position at NASA Exchange?
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the care, oversight, and accountability of children that complies with established standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conducts daily health checks of children and observes children for signs of illness, abuse or neglect
- Create a fun and safe learning environment
- Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Ensures safety and sanitation of assigned children through constant supervision and attends to their physical individual needs such as diapering, feeding, toileting, and resting
- Develops and implements developmentally appropriate activities which stimulate and sustain the interest of children and that contribute to the social, cognitive, physical and emotional growth of children
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Observes and evaluates children’s developmental levels and documents developmental progression and/or concerns and maintains records of observations and/or evaluations.
- Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship is required
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
- Completion of 45 hour required training and testing completed (if applicable)
- Early Literacy and Language Development Training
- Possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC)
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Satisfactorily complete required background checks and pass pre-employment drug test
- Must complete all initial, annual and ongoing training requirements within the specified timeframe to include CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition/Prevention
- Passionate about working with children

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
