Nassau University Medical Center currently has a unique opportunity for a Plant Maintenance Supervisor II.

In this role you will:
Oversee and coordinatine the maintenance and repair activities of the hospital's physical infrastructure and equipment.

Specifically, you will:

· Lead and guide a team of maintenance technicians, providing direction, support, and training to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.

· Oversee the maintenance and repair of the hospital's infrastructure, including electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, elevators, and other critical components.

· Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment breakdowns, reduce downtime, and extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities.

· Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards set forth by local, state, and federal authorities.

· Assist in developing the maintenance department's budget, monitor expenses, and optimize resource allocation to achieve cost-effectiveness without compromising safety and quality.

· Collaborate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks and ensure their work meets established standards.

· Be available for on-call duties or emergency situations to address urgent maintenance needs and restore critical hospital systems promptly.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, service contracts, and work orders.

· Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes, implement efficiency-enhancing measures, and adopt new technologies to optimize maintenance operations.

Skills:

· Considerable knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of mechanical or electrical equipment.

Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and six years of experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical or electrical equipment. Experience in excess of the six years requirement may be substituted for high school graduation on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years.
