Job Summary:
The Multimedia Producer works closely with internal and external teams to deliver innovative and high-quality visual projects. Primary responsibilities include identifying stories and methods of delivery to various platforms.
Planning and implementation of video and digital projects targeting both local and national audiences is an essential part of the position. They participate in all stages of production, from project conceptualization through delivery, with expertise in planning and executing interviews with subjects. This position provides expert-level videography for interviews and B-roll and is well versed in various field production techniques. This position shares responsibility for video archive implementation and maintenance. Secondary responsibilities include support for training members of the National Aquarium organization and community in best practices for storytelling and equipment utilization.
Key Requirements:
- Ability to produce, film, and edit visual media in multiple formats for marketing and institutional needs by developing relationships and working closely with internal and external partners and stakeholders to creatively support National Aquarium goals.
- Extensive experience creating storytelling assets for use in physical, digital, and virtual environments, including identifying and creating new methods of digital storytelling.
- A well-developed sense of visual storytelling, including the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate it in an accurate and compelling manner, with a proven ability to build a narrative from unscripted dialogue.
- Works closely with the social media team to identify and create storytelling assets for National Aquarium’s social channels.
- Responsible for video production including educational, corporate,documentary, video news release, and exhibit-related production reaching both local and national outlets.
- Assists and trains other National Aquarium teams in best practices for media capture and storytelling.
- Responsible for development of necessary scripts and storyboards.
- Strong foundation in field production techniques; sets up and arranges field shoots.
- Experience shooting with Canon production equipment.
- Actively participates in concept and brainstorming sessions.
- Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Keeps current with recent innovations and techniques in the field.
- Familiarity with metadata creation and tracking preferred but not required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:
College degree in video production or related studies/work experience. 5 years of multimedia production experience.
- Strong foundation in field production including: videography, field sound, and lighting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Must have experience with Apple computers.
- Detailed understanding of video formats, codecs, and compression.
- Desire for creative growth and a passion for video storytelling are essential.
