Qualifications:
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialize Experience for this position includes:
Creating educational curriculum that integrates primary resources and archival materials for students at the K-12 level;
AND
Leading a team that includes staff or volunteers in the dissemination of presenting educational material;
AND
Designing and facilitating educational programs for a variety of audiences that integrate historical materials and primary sources.
Responsibilities:
As an Education Specialist, you will:
- Manage a variety of education programs by developing plans, policies and procedures that guide, govern and promote these activities, including conceptualizing and developing the content of these programs.
- Research, develop, and publish curriculum and teacher study guides for grades Kindergarten through 16 relative to the President and his times.
- Develop and implement plans for educational programs for the general public on a variety of historical, political and public policy issues.
- Coordinate the efforts to promote the use of the library's archival resources in elementary and secondary schools, college and university classrooms and to make the library's holdings more accessible and familiar to the educational community.
- Develop and implement programs (conferences, seminars, workshops, etc.) for secondary school students and teachers, and for college and university students and professors.
