The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), the Washington, DC-based trade association representing the 35,000 company, $8.2 trillion revenue distribution industry, is seeking a detail-oriented, driven, and well-organized individual ready to join a growing team responsible for providing cutting-edge content and world-class networking opportunities across the distribution industry.

The Program Manager will play an integral role in supporting a dynamic team focused on continuous learning and community building. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing programs, with a strong focus on speaker logistics and content management.

The Program Manager will focus on solutions, thrives in a collaborative work environment, and knows how to strike the delicate balance between personal and professional interactions with high-profile business executives.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Work with thought leaders, consultants, academics, business leaders, etc. to facilitate speakers, research, and other content for all meetings and events.
  • Manage speaker logistics, monitors and tracks contracts and budgets, and coordinates travel arrangements as needed.
  • Manage the registration and data entry for speakers and thought leaders for events and programs.
  • Manage all speaker invoices and coordinates timely payment with our accounting team while ensuring the travel and accommodation policy is adhered to.
  • Conduct preview of speaker content to ensure they meet the requirements and preferences of the group.
  • Serve as primary contact and oversee the presentations from speakers prior to the program and while on-site.
  • Coordinate closely with events team on logistics of assigned programs and events.
  • Assist in the coordination of print and web communications related to events and programs as necessary.
  • Research new and innovative methods of programming.
  • Develop necessary meeting materials and file management.
  • Prepare evaluations and provide thoughtful analysis while identifying industry trends.
  • Collaborate with and respond to member inquiries as necessary.

  • Effective communicator with solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relationship-build
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and plan ahead
  • Ability to create new processes and demonstrate sound judgment
  • Strong analytical, research and data evaluation skills to identify trends among event attendees
  • Demonstrate a high level of motivation and drive to achieve goals and objectives autonomously

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience), required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in program management, with a demonstrated track record of success in creating and executing programs, required

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in cross-functional teamwork and program management, required
  • Salesforce experience, desirable

Work Environment: The position is based at NAW’s headquarters office in Washington, DC, near Metro Center. NAW is currently offering a hybrid work model. Employees are required to be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and upon request for mandatory meetings or events. Employees are provided the opportunity to work remotely on Monday and Friday. The hybrid work model is subject to change. NAW’s DC HQ office provides a standard office environment.

Experience level and other factors will determine the final salary level, in the starting range of $67,000-$75,000.
