Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The position is accountable for maintaining the Process Safety Management program and the Risk Management Program of the facility and reports to the Corporate Case Ready PSM Manager with a dotted line to the facility Maintenance Manager
- Ensures compliance with and documentation of PSM and Risk Management Plan (RMP) and all local, state, and federal regulations
- Organizes and maintains all 14 elements of PSM by reading and reviewing mechanical and electrical drawings, procedures, and ammonia-related programs and policies
- Reviews system-altering processes prior to implementations
- Organizes, documents, and provides PSM-mandated training to all applicable associates and contractors
- Reviews and assists with Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs), and Process Hazards Analysis (PHA)
- Reviews all refrigeration action plans for ammonia-related projects to ensure compliance and viability with the PSM program
- Maintain, train facility ammonia operators, and review the SOP's annually for the refrigeration system. Ensure that all P&ID's are up to date
- Review all PM's for mechanical Integrity compliance, ensure that all piping is labeled, and valve numbers are in place and accurate
- Develop eMaint proficiency and assist with moving the PSM program elements & other maintenance items to eMaint
- Serves as secondary respondent in the event of any PSM audit activity. (Corporate PSM Coordinator is primary)
- Actively participates in refrigeration team activities and programs. Works to improve skills by staying abreast of current technologies
- Maintain PRV log and replacement schedule
- Develop and maintain tracking documents for the following:
- Mechanical Integrity Audit findings
- PSM/Compliance Audit findings
- PHA Audit findings
- Any other refrigeration system finding e.g. corrosion under insulation NDT testing
- Write new Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform Valve tag inspections, order & replace lost tags
- Help perform annual IIAR 6 inspections
- Coordinate any required local vessel Inspections with documentation
- Create/maintain “Master PSM Calendar” showing dates for past and future required audits, training, Haz Mat training, Confined Space training, PHA’s, RMP’s, etc.
- Perform Monthly roof audits for cleanliness, insulation condition, etc.
- Perform weekly engine room audit for cleanliness, etc.
- Completes any other duties as assigned by Facility Maintenance Managers and Corporate PSM Coordinator
- Other duties as assigned
This is a safety sensitive position. This position is NOT remote.
Qualified candidates for the Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator position should possess the following:
- Experience with PSM-associated ammonia refrigeration
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to withstand walking, lifting, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and working in confined spaces
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift over 30 pounds
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and technical specifications
- Ability to read and understand complex regulatory requirements
- Ability to learn and understand OSHA Emergency Response requirements
- Ability to demonstrate excellent work habits in line with good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
- Ability to demonstrate safe work habits
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Ability to work efficiently with little to no supervision
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
- Ability to work well with others as an effective team player
- Obvious enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
