Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Engineer to join the NBE team. In this role you will play a critical part in providing technical expertise throughout the entire engineered-to-application development process, drive innovative solutions, and actively contribute to the sales process. Your sales experience and engineering skills, combined with your knowledge of handling/storage equipment systems, and your problem-solving abilities will ensure customer satisfaction and successful implementation of our solutions to drive revenue and growth.
This role requires a strong background in engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
· Engage in comprehensive discussions with customers to understand their specific requirements and challenges.
· Collaborate with team members to provide guidance and consultation on best approaches to meet customers’ needs, considering factors such as rate, product type and characteristics, container types and sizes while using NBE equipment. Leverage your technical expertise to create a complete solution to integrate our products into existing production lines, ensuring seamless functionality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
· Act as a sales technical consultant to provide customer guidance and address technical inquiries and concerns related product solutions during customer interactions. Provide details and assistance to resolve concerns related to the application, including equipment maintenance, optimization, and potential process improvements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure timely delivery of solutions and resolve technical challenges, while addressing customer requirements and sales objectives.
· Work within the Innovation Center and Application Workshop (ICAW) to coordinate product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept (POC) implementations tailored to project requirements.
· Prepare pricing and detailed proposal for the solution working with sales, engineering, and vendors.
· Work with purchasing to negotiate price, terms, and conditions with outside suppliers used to meet project needs.
· Utilize knowledge of industry trends and advancements in technology to drive continuous product improvement, innovation, and sales differentiation. Collaborate with internal departments to design custom equipment and solutions.
· Act as a subject matter expert, representing the company during presale demonstrations, testing, and trade show exhibitions.
· Review customer bid specifications, drawings, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree in engineering (mechanical preferred) and 3 years in an industrial process equipment environment. Relevant certifications, additional technical training, or similar role in the industry are advantageous.
· Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyance equipment, mass flow storage designs.
· Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing systems and with controls architecture and PLC based machine controls is desirable.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to assess complex customer needs and design innovative solutions.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts and sales advantages to diverse audiences to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and build lasting customer relationships.
· Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate within a team environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering exceptional results.
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring the successful execution of projects within defined timelines.
· Ability to work with Microsoft applications and SolidWorks is preferred.
