This position is at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the Office of National Examinations and Supervision. This position serves as a Credit Union Examiner (National Credit Union Examiner).
All applicants applying for the CU-13 level must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-12 level obtained in the private or public sector. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in all of the following:
(1) examining the overall safety and soundness of credit unions or other federally insured depository institutions; with assets larger than $250 million; and
(2) analyzing financial statements and statistical reports to identify trends in federally insured depository institutions; and
(3) serving as a subject matter examiner in specialized lending, consumer compliance, information systems technology, internal controls/recordkeeping, capital markets or electronic payment systems; and
(4) negotiating findings with credit union or other federally insured depository institution management.

(1) leading a team of examiners or specialists in the examination of critical and problem case credit unions or federally insured depository institutions with CAMEL ratings of 3, 4, or 5, or those in danger of failure due to deteriorating financial conditions; and
(2) analyzing financial statements and statistical reports to identify trends in federally insured depository institutions' financial data; and
(3) determining the soundness of risk management processes of credit unions or other federally insured depository institutions; and
(4) negotiating with officials and management of credit unions or other federally insured depository institutions to ensure corrective or administrative actions are implemented to sustain the viability of the institution.
