Your essential duties:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer and prospects. We’re talking a Tina-Fey-and-Amy-Poehler strength relationship.
  • You get to leave the office! You’ll travel to attend presentations and trade shows in your territories to collect new leads and show off our delicious food samples.
  • Continually cross-sell and up-sell high profit as well as slow moving inventory. (We don’t all know what Yucca fries are, but someone will love them!)
  • Play up your social butterfly personality when seeking new customers through cold calls and customer visits.
  • Handle issues promptly. (Like your moldy yogurt in the back of the fridge. Please discard asap.)
  • Help us grow! Increase revenue and profit within your territory by closing new orders.
  • Work closely with management to achieve sales goals – don’t be shy to put in your two cents. After all, you know your own customers best.
  • Maintain CRM data for customer and prospect information.
  • Work with the Creative Services team on producing marketing materials and any crazy promotional ideas you might have. Hey, if it works, it works.
  • Manage the order process from entry to invoice to follow up.
  • Work with the Purchasing team to source new products you know your customers will love, or develop new products that your customers are looking for.
  • Work with our corporate chef to share recipes and fancy plated versions of food for photos and marketing – followed by (optional) taste-testing of everything Chef has made!

Your education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Sales experience preferred, but not required

You must be:

  • Able to travel overnight up to 40%.
  • Good at juggling (without dropping any juggling sticks) multiple tasks in a fast paced working environment. It’d be worse if the juggling sticks were on fire, believe us.
  • Able to write as detailed as J.R.R Tolkien, and speak with as much power as Steve Jobs.
  • Tech-savvy, not typing like ur 2 kool 4 skool, and generally pretty good at navigating your way around Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work under pressure – stay calm and carry on, as the British say.
  • Organized and can prioritize work like a boss. (Pun intended.)
  • Able to reflect your friendly personality effectively over phone, email, and in person.
  • Creative when it comes to resolving problems. If it’s an idea that you think will work, do it.
  • Detail-oriented. Details are like the bay leaf in a stew. It may seem inconsequential, but it makes a big difference to the final result.
