Financial Analyst

Job Purpose:

Our partner, a leading utilities company in the northeastern US, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team on a contract-basis for the period of 6-months (potential for extension/conversion). The work format is remote, but candidates should be local to Waltham, MA as there is potential for occasional in-person meetings at 40 Sylvan Road, Waltham, MA 02451.

This role will support the TSA (Transition Service Agreement) Billing team. The company recently sold its Rhode Island business and is working with the buyer over a 2-year period to transition the business with minimal disruption to business operations and the Rhode Island customers. The TSA Billing team as part of the overall TSA Management team is responsible for billing of these transitional services to the buyer.

You will be responsible for generation of TSA invoices monthly, maintenance of billing model, and work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure accuracy of TSA invoices variances are appropriately explained.

Key Accountabilities:

• Extract source data and translate through a complex Excel billing model to generate a comprehensive invoice monthly
• Work with stakeholders across the organization to obtain variance explanations for various services provided
• Identify costs not mapped to defined services and work with stakeholders to map appropriately
• Ensure billing correctly reflects time and expenses incurred on the transitional services
• Verify accuracy of time & vendor charge accounting and work with stakeholders to correct as necessary
• Assess current processes and make recommendations for continuous improvement
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient and smooth execution of individual and team responsibilities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field preferred
• Experience with M365 suite and Advanced Excel knowledge
• Minimum experience of 5 years in data analytics, data modelling or financial analytics
• Experience working with large volumes of data to generate various desired outputs
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders to obtain appropriate variance explanations and provide directions on accounting
• Ability to identify and improve processes
• Strong verbal and written communication, including presentation to program audiences
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Ability to independently solve problems and make informed decisions to move tasks forward

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $55.00 per hour
