We want to find an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented IT Product Manager for one of our critical business units to lead major initiatives within our Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) team. This group is building and expanding the new AMI system which brings together near real-time energy use information, dis-aggregation data, and grid signals to bring this customer experience to life.

What you'll do
As an AMI IT Product Manager, you'll make it easy for customers to manage their energy costs, by giving them actionable information about their electric and gas usage. At its core, the IT Product Manager is a leader who owns technical delivery and product management in partnership with their Digital Business Manager (DBM) peer.
This role has a primary focus on how we deliver billing our customers and optimizing our operations. The secondary focus is what and when of these. The right candidate must work closely with architecture, engineering, and business product teams as they define the why, what, and when functionality is desired, prioritized, and valued. Your role is to work with them and lead with them while remaining focused on how and what we deliver. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Own Product Line technical delivery in partnership with their Digital Business Manager (DBM) counterpart (technical strategic and tactical levels)
- Strategic product line delivery planning, for future product increments (PIs)
o Partner with business leads to define and validate overall strategy and approach, make necessary adjustments to business and technology plans, and maximize desired business outcomes.
o Own IT development and ongoing maintenance of product area including product roadmap(s), milestones, and cross-team interdependencies
o Prioritize what products, epics, and features to actively manage current and upcoming PIs (intent is to always have a solid plan of prioritization of the roadmap in the product line)
o Understand the customer experience to lead vision and define strategy of how the systems and applications are delivered as an “integrated system”
o Own IT development and ongoing maintenance of product area including product roadmap(s), milestones, and cross-team interdependencies
o Prioritize what products, epics, and features to actively manage current and upcoming PIs (intent is to always have a solid plan of prioritization of the roadmap in the product line)
o Understand the customer experience to lead vision and define strategy of how the systems and applications are delivered as an “integrated system”
- Tactical everyday management directing and doing roadmap readiness in their product line with ability to assist across AMI
o Lead product intake, backlog refinement, development execution, and go-live
o Optimize product value during all phases of software development life cycle
o Excellent partnership across engineering, business leads, partners, and customers

What you'll need
- 10 years of Software experience
- 10 years of Software PM experience
- 5 years of Software Engineering experience
- 5 years of Agile Software Engineering experience, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) preferred
- 5 years of Software Product-model experience
- 5 years of experience in people management both in direct and indirect (matrix) organization structure
It would be awesome if you had
- 5 years of Billing system experience, CSS experience preferred
- 2 years of enterprise SOR (system of record) exposure, preferred COBOL
- 2 years of Customer Service / Support experience
- 2 years of Meter Data Management experience, Landis Gyr MDMS & CC preferred

Salary
$131,000 - $154,000 a year
Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
