Job Purpose
This opening is for a supervisor position within the Credit & Collections Department of National Grid. Credit & Collections falls within the Customer Organization. The position will report to the NYC Credit & Collections Manager serving under the Director of Credit & Collections. The successful candidate will oversee a group of Credit & Collections bargaining unit employees performing a variety of tasks. They will be responsible for ensuring that operational performance metrics are attained, the bargaining contract obligations are met, and that company policies and procedures are followed.
Key Accountabilities
- Collect and maintain group operational data.
- Prepare responses to requests for group data.
- Ensure company guidelines and procedures, standards, and safety regulations are adhered to.
- Assure compliance to all applicable Federal, state, local and National Grid guidelines, laws & regulations.
- Oversee revisions to operational policies and procedures.
- Work with external vendors.
- Work with other peer departments.
- Prepare company communications.
- Prepare, review, and interpret reports, data, metrics, etc.
- Successful completion of deliverables associated with departmental, organizational, or company projects and initiatives.
- Manage the daily workflow of the group's operational processes.
- Investigate, diagnose, and remedy interruptions in processes volume or quality.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience Required:
- A two- or four-year degree is preferred or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience in the utility or energy industry is preferred.
- Experience in Credit & Collections is strongly preferred.
Capability Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of MS-Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, including learning new software applications.
- Demonstrated ability in critical thinking and analysis.
- Demonstrated dependability and professional interpersonal awareness.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions
